IFA Type Ratings
B777-200 Type Rating Course

1. Introduction

IFA offer two types of Type Rating Courses:
- Transition Course - for pilots with pre-requirements defined by JAR-FCL 1.261 for the Type Rating Training Qualification

- Shortness Course - it is a transition course with less training and simulator hours for pilots with the certification in Boeing 757/767 or  Boeing 737(300-900),  or other Boeing aircraft , accepted by the authority. Pilots also have to confirm their recent experience in the aircrafts mentioned above.

2. Course Prerequisites

 2.1 Transition Course

  • Hold a Commercial pilot licence with a ATPL Frozen, Multi-Engine, Instrument Rating and MCC (Multi-Crew Cooperation)
OR
  • Holds an Airline Transport Pilot licence ATPL and meet additional aircraft category and class ratings, as appropriate.

 2.2 Shortness Course

  • Hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and be qualified in Aircrafts Boeing B 757/767 or Boeing 737/300-900.

3. Course Objectives

IFA’s B-777-200 Aircraft Initial Ground Training objective is to provide flight crewmembers with the necessary knowledge for understanding the basic functions of aircraft systems, the use of the individual system components, the integration of aircraft systems and operational procedures. Trainees must successfully complete the applicable B-777-200 Ground Training curriculum segments, before proceeding to the Flight Training curriculum segments.

4. Course Structure

Transition Course:

 A) Theoretical Instruction – 105h
   Modules:
  • Aircraft Systems training
  • General Operations subjects
  • Review and Examination
  • Procedures training
  • Preflight inspection

B) Simulator Training
   Modules:

  • FBS – 10PF + 10PM
  • FFS - 16PF + 16PM
  • Flight Training and Test – 2PF + 2PM

Shortness Course:

 A) Theoretical Instruction – 59h
   Modules:
  • Aircraft Systems training
  • General Operations subjects
  • Review and Examination
  • Procedures training
  • Preflight inspection

 B) Simulator Training
   Modules:

  • FBS – 06PF + 06PM
  • FFS - 10PF + 10PM
